Louise Bullingham
Senior Team Leader – Accounts Payable
I joined AJW Group in 2004 when I was looking to get back into the workplace after having my first baby. A colleague recommended me to the Finance Director and I was employed on a part-time basis doing the filing.
From there, my career flourished and I worked my way up to becoming Senior Team Leader – Accounts Payable, a position I have held since 2016 and one that I really enjoy. I would never have thought I could be part of a finance team coming from a PA background and I value the opportunity greatly.
AJW has been very supportive in offering flexible hours over the years, allowing me to juggle being a working mother. Plus, the social side of the business is brilliant. I enjoy being part of a fun, friendly and enthusiastic team and the workload, although sometimes challenging, is very rewarding. Knowing that I have succeeded in getting a payment out on time to satisfied customers is fantastic. I also feel privileged to work in the modern and inspiring surroundings of the Slinfold headquarters.
Luke Russell
Warehouse Team Leader
I'm Luke Russell and I have recently been promoted to Warehouse Team Leader, a role that I can't wait to get my teeth into. I joined AJW Aviation in April 2009 as a Warehouse Operative and have progressed to Team Leader after 4 years of hard work and commitment. In order to succeed in this new role I have to ensure that my team is constantly working to a high standard whilst developing my own skills and knowledge in the receiving, packing and despatch elements of the department. I thoroughly enjoy my time at AJW Aviation as it is a friendly environment to work in and we are lucky enough to have access to amazing amenities such as a staff gym and a wide choice of freshly cooked meals every day in the Galley restaurant. AJW Aviation also have regular staff functions such as a summer ball and Christmas parties which are great fun and enable us to socialise with our colleagues that we don't see that often as the HQ is huge and split over 3 floors. I have also been fortunate to be undertaking an NVQ in Team Leadership that AJW Aviation is funding in order for me to progress my career further.
Sean Beeney
Assistant Logistics Manager
I have worked for AJW Group for just over a decade in the logistics department and have recently been promoted to Assistant Logistics Manager. Since joining in 2008 I have worked in each part of the department, developing the skills needed to ensure our customers receive the great level of service they have come to expect.
Working for AJW is an amazing experience. I can honestly say that I have never worked for a company that takes pride in everything they do and achieve like this one does. The customers' whole experience matters and everything we do works towards ensuring they have a great experience so they want to return to us.
Another reason I love working for AJW is that although you have your set daily workload you never know when something different or strange might pop up. You have to be on your toes and ready to deal with any situation. The company also works very hard with each employee to ensure we receive all the training needed in order to perform daily roles to the very best of our ability. Since working here I have been promoted three times. This shows that if you are willing to put the effort in and to push yourself, AJW is prepared to reward you for all your hard work.
Sue Wright
Inventory Manager, Sales and Commercial
Having spent many years in aviation experiencing various highs and lows, my first impression of AJW was that of a positive, ambitious company. Everyone has the same 'can do' attitude from the top down. There is extreme drive and energy across every aspect of the Company and this is coupled with a strong sense of belonging and dedication, which is part of the AJW culture. Every day flies by. Work is varied with many conflicting/opposing deadlines, which ensures no two days are the same. AJW is extremely focused on ensuring their staff are equipped to meet every challenge with an excellent training regime, which is something I have been able to take advantage of. My work involves analysing large amounts of data and therefore strong PC skills are required. I am encouraged to be innovative and I continuously look to improve methods and create solid work foundations for the future. At the same time my experience is respected and everyone is keen to learn and build on this. To this end, I coach staff and develop them into a professional and knowledgeable team. My team works closely with Accounts, Stores, Sales and Repairs which leads to a very broad understanding of the aviation business.
