Repair, reuse, and recycle: Prioritising efficiency and environmental responsibility
Sustainability has become a top priority globally, and collective efforts are essential to achieving the ambitious target of net-zero emissions by 2050.
AJW Group is committed to sustainability in the aviation industry with our focus being on three key areas: prioritising the repair, reuse, and recycling of aircraft components; increasing our eco-friendly practices; and delivering on our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact.
Repair, Reuse, and Recycle:
With over 90 years of experience, AJW Group prioritises repairing, reusing, and recycling aircraft components, ensuring the highest quality repairs that meet the latest certification standards. By advocating the use of high-quality used parts, we help customers save on costs while reducing the demand for new components and landfill waste.
Eco-Friendly initiatives:
Our headquarters exemplify responsible resource management with rainwater harvesting systems and solar panels. Expanding our solar panel initiative resulted in an annual reduction of 425 tonnes of CO2 emissions. We are well on the way to powering AJW Technique Europe with solar energy, enabling the Battery Shop to recharge aircraft batteries sustainably.
We have also brought SkyLeather®to market. Made from 100% water-based PU (polyurethane), this revolutionary cabin material is a unique, sustainable, and eco-friendly alternative to hide leather and materials made from petrochemicals. It is 25% lighter than the lightest version of hide leather available on the market and offers operators reduced fuel consumption and lower environmental impact.
United Nations Global Compact:
In 2023, we signed the United Nations Global Compact, affirming our commitment to operating responsibly to benefit society. Collaboration and innovation are at the core of our mission to reduce carbon emissions to create a cleaner, more sustainable aviation industry. Join us in shaping a brighter, greener future for all.
In 2024, we launched our Sustainability Strategy Statement, committing AJW Group to two core pillars:
