Global Interiors Outlook | Aircraft Cabin Management

12 Jan 2023

The industry continues to experience challenges within the supply chain, which has led companies to reorganise themselves for the prospect of fluctuating aviation-related volumes. Aircraft Cabin Management spoke to AJW Technique Interiors.

In the December/January 2023 issue of Aircraft Cabin Management, AJW’s Sohaib Ahmed, Programme Manager Interiors, was in the hot seat. In an article focusing on Global Interiors Outlook for 2023, Editor Anthony Wilkinson was interested to hear from different companies in the cabin interiors industry on the forecast trends and challenges they expect to see emerging in 2023 and what strategies they will develop to respond to those challenges.

AJW Technique Interiors says it faces sourcing challenges for products such as backing materials, fire blockers, and adhesives for cabin interiors. These products are in demand across the industry, which is subsequently delaying aftermarket and service delivery. Sohaib Ahmed had this to say regarding AJW’s approach to dealing with this challenge.

“We are making strategic decisions about a simpler and more nimble supply chain so that we can continue to offer our customers the service efficiency they expect.”

Many forces are acting together and disrupting logistics; however, AJW Technique Europe's battery MRO facility is optimistic about business in 2023 as it has seen an upturn in productivity on units coming in for inspection. The Group expects this to increase as airlines begin focusing on winter maintenance schedules. During the pandemic, most airlines did essential maintenance for airworthiness only; however, with the travel industry now back in full swing, they are looking to do cabin refurbishments and interior upgrades, which bodes well for AJW Technique Interiors and the various services it offers.

“We remain committed to offering service excellence and our MRO division has adopted various digital transformation strategies to not only strengthen our service delivery but move toward a more sustainable way of operating.” Sohaib Ahmed, Programme Manager Interiors, AJW.

As part of its commitment to transformation within the aviation industry, AJW has expanded its services and offers aircraft remarketing and leasing services to aircraft operators, investors, owners, and insolvency practitioners by offering them solutions to maximise their assets’ potential value.

Despite the economic recession, the travel industry is steadily gaining momentum, and while the industry is still recovering from the pandemic, airlines are committed to giving their travel hungry customers an excellent flying experience by looking to interior refurbishment services such as those offered by AJW Technique Interiors.
